They make buttons of photos at the Arts and science fair at Maya's school. Polaroid photos are pretty good. This one was discarded because Maya closed her eyes

As soon as she arrived, we put her to work

A friend is helping us fix the bathroom - and Maya is all too happy to be in the middle of it

She is finally home!

After a whole week away at the farm (a school thing), she returned yesterday. It was the longest time we've been apart - and the cruel element added to it - no communication whatsoever.(beats me why)
Anyway, there are almost a hundred photos in the photoblog - first 20 taken by me, the rest by Maya. They are here here, and here some of them:

Earth day play, writing celebration

The kids in Maya's class had a little play at the community meeting for Earth Day. After that we got to hear them read their "How TO" books - Maya's was on apple shells - and we made some for everyone. The rest of the photos are here

Mayalimpics - part 3

Thanks to Tania, maya and mandea for the good weather wishes - we had a superb sunny spring afternoon - in spite of all predictions of rain, clouds and snow. The girls were great = pretty much took care of themselves - from serving themselves with food to finding games to play - leaving us to sit in the sun and beam with pride. Some pics
The rest of them are here and also here

Mayalimpics - Part deux

Today we gave Maya her presents. She was celebrated at school by her classmates and later we had a school conference where we had the usual glowing report (she is kind, she makes efforts to be fair to everyone - and the "critiques" - "sometimes she capitalizes the wrong words and is overly eager in the meetings (hands up)
So, we went to a restaurant to celebrate her. Some pics - from the starting of the Harry Potter diary and the restaurant tonight

Happy Birthday Maya!

I took the picture while I was giving her sun baths to cure the jaundice she developped the day after I brought her home. And cured it did. I learned this trick from a resident in NICU where they were holding Brian with the same condition after he was born - one exposure to the sun and he was sent home!

I declare the Mayalimpics open!

The first event in the Maya birthday festivities took place today at the grandparents house. We had been fashionably late - because we missed the fact that today light savings time started.
All the old friends that have been celebrating her since she was born, were here. See the whole collection here
